so i've logged into livesky.com and my observations, locations, and equipment have transferred over, but none of the basic settings have migrated such as star magnitudes, preferred time format etc.
am i missing something?

william warden the answer is you have to go into SS6, save settings, then go to SS7 and load settings AND log into livesky.com
an embarrassingly clunky upgrade process

Pedro Braganca Hi Bill, we don't sync those types of settings because people tend to customize their settings depending on which device they are running SkySafari on (they could have multiple). Restoring from a Settings file seems to be the best way for now and you can have multiple settings files. We'll review this. Thank you.
