[Installer]* Installation of Starry Night Celestron 8 rolls back after extracting SkyData reaches 100%

I am having trouble installing Starry Night Celestron 8.1.0.2046 on a Windows 11 laptop

It gets 100% through the process of extracting SkyData and then rolls back and says "The Starry Night Celestron 8 Setup Wizard ended prematurely"

Can anyone help?

    James,

Make sure your computer is completely up-to-date.

Check the Settings > System > update the operating system.  Reboot the computer.  Check for more updates.  Reboot.  Continue until there are no more operating system updates.

Then try the SN8 installer again.

    Please ensure logging is enabled:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/223300/how-to-enable-windows-installer-logging

If the SN8 installation fails again, go to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp\ and sort by date.

Grab the most recent log file. The log filename looks like MSIXX123.LOG.

    Attach the log here.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Kieron

The system is fully up to date

I created and enabled the registry key for logging and it created 2 log files when I ran the installer again

Same here. Fully up-to-date Windows 11 Desktop.

    My log file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lVs5Eo2yCPa13s5NgZInHa54z7zks5Z8/view?usp=sharing

My hope that an almost 2 year old thread will get an update with a resolution: 0

It looks like the problem (at least it was for me) is that the installer doesn't like install locations other than the default. Choosing the default installation location allowed me to install without the rollback.
Not ideal as that isn't where I want to the software to be installed, but it should get people going who are having the same issue.
