Adding Comet 3I/Atlas To A List Crashes SkySafari

Adding interstellar comet 3I/Atlas to a list crashes SkySafari. Not sure, but this could potentially be caused by its eccentricity > 1.

Same here with SkySafari 7 Pro on iPhone and iPad. I tried both methods to add to the observing list. There is a pause after clicking Add to List then SkySafari crashes without adding the object.

Same here again with SkySafari 7 Pro on iPad. SkySafari simply crashes when adding 3I/ATLAS, but works with adding other objects. Is there a way to manually create and add objects for observing?

3I/ATLAS is in SS7 Pro.  Am I misunderstanding this post?

Try to add the existing entry to the watchlist by selecting the telescope icon on the bottom left. For the three of us, SS7 Pro will simply crash, returning you to the OS screen.

Yes, it is the data base, but trying to add it to an observing will crash the app, at least on iPhone and iPad. Latest OS updates did not fix the problem. Needs either a correction to the object data or an update to the app.

[2025.09.08] Has there been any progress on this bug? Adding a comet to an observing list crashes Sky Safari Pro 7.6.1.

Just updated to SS7P 7.6.2 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 26) and was able to add 3i to an observing list. No crash. THANK YOU!
