I've had the sn7 se software for a few years and I'd like to add my own horizon for sites where i do some nightscape shooting. I don't think that I can with the sn7 se software so can I upgrade to the next level to obtain this functionality?

You do not need SN8 to add custom panoramas. SN7 has this feature too.

When I looked at the possibility of adding a custom panorama to my SN7 SE version a few weeks ago my recollection is that I got a dialog box saying that I couldn't create my own photorealistic horizon in SN7 SE. Can you confirm that this is an option in the SE version before I put more time into shooting the images, etc.?
I opened the options dialog box and I don't see anything re creating a user shot horizon panorama. I also clicked on the links that you sent me and it just doesn't seem compatible with SN7 SE.

If you read you will see how the custom pano is added to SN7. Also, I've attached the pano and required text file, so you can actually add this yourself, and experiment to see how it works before shooting and editing your own photo panorama.
You can also experiment first with the Skyrim Elder Scroll pano - everything you need to experiment before you make your own.
