Will SNP 8 Still Work On Apple Silicon Without Rosetta? (Answer: Read On!)

I have a now MacBook Pro that is apple silicon. The MacBook has something called Rosetta that allows Intel based products to run on Apple Silicon. Rosetta will be discontinued this fall. Will SNP support Apple Silicon without rosetta?

  update, Rosetta slated to go away fall of 2027, question still stands.

  During its Platforms State of the Union event at WWDC 2025, Apple announced that macOS Tahoe will be the last major version of macOS that supports Intel-based Macs. As Starry Night version 8 and earlier are compiled exclusively for Intel based Macs, this warning is informing you that this is the final version of macOS that will support your installed copy of Starry Night. If you update your Mac past that version, your currently installed copy of Starry Night will no longer function on that machine.

   

  While we will not be offering an update to Starry Night v8 or earlier, a new version of Starry Night (v9) will be fully compatible with the latest macOS and Apple Silicon based Macs going forward.

   

  We expect to begin a phased release of Starry Night v9 by the end of this year (2026)

  Starry Night Users,

  I just got off the phone speaking with someone in customer service at Simulation Curriculum. As I was asking my question in reference to Mac users not being able to use the current version of Starry Night 8 for the up and coming new Mac OS, the representative interrupted me and assured me that a new version of Starry Night at version 9 will be released by the end of the year.

  This is another confirmation adding to what was confirmed by Keiron added last month.
